How To: Reduction Linocut and Print

Reduction Linocut is a technique that uses a single block to create multi-colour prints by carving and printing in stages.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn to plan, carve, and layer colours, creating small editions of your own two-colour linoprint.
Participants will be able to bring home their uniquely printed zines and carved linoleum piece.
This workshop is suitable for beginners, and welcomes participants ages 12 and above.

All our workshops are by appointment only.
The use of printmaking tools and materials are included in the fee.
The Curriculum
Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours
Learn how to transfer a design onto the linoleum.
Learn how to handle a linocutter.
Learn how to break down a design into layers.
Learn how to prepare and apply ink onto the linoleum.
Learn how to print onto a piece of paper.
Participants will be able to bring home their uniquely printed works and their carved linoleum piece.
Take Note
Due to limited studio space, we could only fit maximum of 10 participants.
Please take note of your dressing, try not to wear your favourite or best, just in case you might get ink stains.
Please be punctual, and observe hygiene practices.
You are allowed to bring in your snacks and drinks.
The duration of the workshop may be shortened or extended depending on the participant’s process.
